Gino Laurenzo
STHS Class of 1981
The youngest son of Ninfa and Tom Laurenzo, Gino Laurenzo ’81 grew up in Houston’s restaurant world. His father Tom owned and operated Rio Grande Food Products, a wholesale producer of pizzas and packaged corn tortillas, and his mother Ninfa opened the legendary Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant in 1973. In 2000, Gino brought the family recipes to New York state, opening Rio Grande Tex-Mex Grill in Washington Mills — the only confirmed STHS alumni restaurant outside of Texas. He serves the exact family recipes that made Ninfa’s famous.
