Texadelphia’s Texan take on the Philly cheesesteak — marinated steak, queso, and jalapeños on a toasted hoagie — has been a Houston staple since the mid-1990s, when STHS alum Willie Madden (’82) began operating the brand’s local franchises. Willie, who later owned Pizzitola’s BBQ and passed away in 2021, helped introduce the brand — originally founded in Austin in 1986 — to a generation of Houston diners.
The current Garden Oaks location on North Shepherd carries that tradition forward with classic cheesesteaks, chicken and vegetarian versions, queso-smothered nachos, Texadelphia salads, and a full slate of game-day specials on the sports-bar side. Order at the counter, grab a booth, and watch whatever’s on.
